Extended Childcare
At Darlinghurst Academy we provide affordable childcare before and after the school day (7:30 – 18:00) to support parents who are working or training. Sessions are carefully planned and include a range of creative activities, indoor and outdoor activities and sessions in the school library. We teach the children to behave in a socially acceptable way and to understand the needs and rights of others.
Breakfast club
Our breakfast club is open to all children who attend the school from Reception through to Year 6. It opens at 7.30am and costs £4.50 per child per morning.
For safeguarding reasons, we must insist that you drop your child off at the door to the hall extension rather than dropping them outside the gates.
A range of breakfast cereals are available along with toast and fruit juice. From time to time we may also have yoghurts and other special items such as croissants.
Children can choose to play games, do their homework or join in with planned activities. Four days a week there are additional activities available in the main hall which vary from singing and dancing to more organised games. At least one day a week is dedicated to exercise.
Little Mariners afterschool club
Our Little Mariners afterschool club is open daily for children from Reception to Year 6. The club runs from the end of the school day until 6.00pm during term time and aims to provide fun activities including drama, art, cooking and sporting activities. The club costs £9 per day, or £4.50 if pupils are collected by 4:30pm.
There is no after school club on the last day of each term.
Collection
It is vital that children are collected promptly at 6pm when after school club closes. If for any reason you will be late, please contact Mrs Grant on 01702 509209
Cancellations
In the unlikely event of the club being cancelled, the school will inform the named parent/carer by phone or text message as soon as possible to enable you to make alternative arrangements.
